Description

There is a great opportunity in building a web platform from the ground up! It enables you to create a foundational infrastructure built on guiding principles and requirements that can last well into the future. In this talk we’ll show how we used this opportunity to build a design system that is accessible, communal, empowering, and sustainable; how we use research to be sure we were going in the right direction; the importance of talking to stakeholders and users; and how we are committed to a focus on accessibility from the very start.
Key takeaways include;
– An appreciation of the benefits of purpose-driven, accessibility-first approaches to technology design and development.
– Ideas for methods and approaches for integrating core principles in new product development, including research with end-users and participatory design with stakeholders.
